Discover Burgatory Cranberry Twp

If you’ve ever driven past 2080 Mackenzie Way #600, Cranberry Twp, PA 16066, United States and noticed the buzz coming from inside, that’s Burgatory Cranberry Twp doing what it does best-serving up indulgent burgers, over-the-top shakes, and a vibe that feels halfway between a neighborhood diner and a modern craft burger bar. I’ve stopped in more than once after long workdays, and each visit has been consistently lively, flavorful, and surprisingly thoughtful when it comes to quality and sourcing.

The first thing you notice is the energy. The space is casual but polished, with upbeat music and a staff that actually seems to enjoy being there. On my most recent visit, our server walked us through the menu in detail, explaining how guests can build their own burger from a range of proteins-Angus beef, bison, turkey, plant-based patties-and customize everything from buns to cheeses to house-made sauces. That level of flexibility isn’t just a gimmick. According to data from the National Restaurant Association, customization is one of the top factors influencing diner satisfaction, especially among younger consumers. You can see that trend playing out here in real time.

I usually go for a classic beef burger, cooked medium, topped with sharp cheddar, caramelized onions, and one of their signature sauces. The patty arrives juicy and well-seasoned, with a slight char that adds depth without overpowering the flavor. The brioche bun holds up-no sogginess halfway through, which, if you’ve eaten enough burgers, you know is no small feat. My friend once ordered the bison burger, and we compared bites. The bison had a leaner, slightly sweeter profile, and it was cooked precisely to temperature. That kind of consistency suggests careful kitchen training and attention to process, not just fast-casual speed.

Then there are the shakes. They don’t just call them milkshakes; they brand them as adult milkshakes too, with optional spirits mixed in. One standout for me was a chocolate peanut butter shake that balanced sweetness and richness without becoming cloying. The texture was thick but sippable, clearly blended to order. It reminded me of what dairy science research often highlights: the balance of fat content and aeration directly affects mouthfeel. You may not think about that while sipping, but you feel the difference when it’s done right.

Beyond burgers and shakes, the menu includes wings, salads, and shareable appetizers. I’ve tried the truffle fries and found them crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and properly seasoned. Portion sizes are generous, which explains why so many online reviews mention value for money. On busy weekends, the wait can stretch a bit, and that’s worth noting. However, turnover moves steadily, and the staff communicates clearly about timing, which builds trust rather than frustration.

Food safety and sourcing matter to many diners today. While I don’t have access to every detail of their supply chain, Burgatory as a brand has publicly emphasized responsible sourcing and fresh ingredients in various locations. That aligns with broader industry standards promoted by organizations like the FDA and USDA regarding safe handling and quality control. From what I’ve observed-clean dining areas, organized kitchen flow visible from certain angles, and well-trained servers-there’s a clear effort to maintain professional standards.

The Cranberry Township location stands out because of its accessibility and central positioning among local shopping and entertainment spots. It’s the kind of place you can bring family, meet coworkers, or grab a casual date night meal without feeling underdressed or out of place. I’ve seen tables of teens celebrating birthdays, parents with kids splitting fries, and couples sharing spiked shakes.

Is it gourmet fine dining? No, and it doesn’t try to be. What it does deliver is bold flavor, reliable execution, and an experience that feels both playful and polished. For a burger joint in Cranberry Township, it hits that sweet spot between comfort food and creative flair, and that’s why it keeps drawing people back through the doors.

  • The food here is really good, the burgers were juicy and the options are endless. The waitstaff was very nice. My only gripe with the place is they enclosed the patio during the winter and put space heaters, It is nice to have extra space but it is not very warm. They seated us right in the corner and it was just way too cold. I am sure they would have moved us no problem had we asked but I didn’t want to be an inconvenience. Other than that everything was great. A very fun place with a neat theme.

  • Ordered take-out from Burgatory while in town on the recommendation of several locals. The real star of the show was the milkshake. Delicious, creamy, and the perfect dessert to my meal. The packaging was great and kept my food warn while I headed back to my hotel. I found that the bun was a little too-toasted and dry (despite having mayo and bbq on the burger). My burger did have a nice medium cook (hot pink center) but it was more charred on the outside for my preferences. I opted to upgrade the side of chips to their salad option with the balsamic vinaigrette. This was perfect! Refreshing and made with fresh ingredients. I would definitely come back to try something else, probably steering clear of the brioche bun next time though.

  • Burgatory is awesome! I really enjoy building your own burger. Every time I go there I create a new burger. Their side dishes are tasty. Lots of options for everyone. Staff is efficient. And if your not hungry I would suggest stopping by for a milkshake treat as your out shopping because they are delicious!! Keep up the good work!

  • I love how vegan friendly this place is!! Their online menus are very clearly labeled and I feel confident ordering here. The vegan mayo is incredible and the shakes are the best I’ve ever had. I do wish the up charge for vegan cheese wasn’t $2…this is very steep :(

  • Holy cow, if I could give more than 5 stars I would! Service was fantastic, vibe of the restaurant was wonderful. But the burgers were miles away from ordinary. Tasty, well cooked, fresh add ons. The best meal I've had in a long time.

  • We tried the bar for happy hour on Wednesday and had a great experience. The bar tender was busy but made sure he attended to us. The half price apps were great as was the beer served in a chilled glass. We got the wings and loaded fries and 2 drinks and were full and happy. This place is the best, great customer service, great food and atmosphere.
